Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is used to get relief from pain, improve healing and decrease inflammation. It is the best treatment method for pain relief. It involves the application of laser light to relieve pain caused due to damage of soft tissue. Laser therapy promotes tissue repair and restores normal cell function.
There are two types in this:
Low Power Laser Therapy (LPLT) is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses low-level lasers or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to stimulate healing in damaged tissues. It is also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), cold laser therapy, or photobiomodulation.
LPLT works by directing a low-power laser or LED onto the affected area of the body. The light energy penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the cells, stimulating their activity and promoting the natural healing process. This can help reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate tissue repair.
LPLT has been used to treat a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, wound healing, and neurological disorders. It is generally considered safe and well-tolerated, with few reported side effects.
However, LPLT should only be administered by trained professionals and with appropriate safety precautions. It is important to note that LPLT is not a cure-all and may not be effective for every individual or condition. It is always recommended to consult with a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new medical treatment.
HPLT, or Thermal Laser Therapy, uses higher-intensity light energy to penetrate deeply into tissues, providing a warming effect that enhances circulation and relieves pain.
1. Light Energy Penetration:
The laser emits focused light energy that penetrates the skin and reaches the targeted tissues.
2. Cellular Stimulation:
The light stimulates mitochondria within the cells, enhancing ATP (energy) production and promoting cellular repair.
3. Healing Response:
Improved cellular function leads to reduced inflammation, increased circulation and accelerated tissue repair.
4. Pain Relief:
Both LPLT and HPLT can desensitize nerves, reduce muscle tension, and promote the release of endorphins, alleviating pain effectively.
Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or looking to enhance your mobility, Laser Therapy at Ashoka International Pain Management Centre can help.
